What's the process for changing an existing classifier?
Firstly, please reach out over Zendesk to submit classifier feedback.
Adapting our classifiers to our customers is a top priority. We will reach back out in 1 week with an time estimate for implementing the feedback. A variety of factors go into this estimate, including the nature of the request, the complexity of the classifier (as evidenced in part by the Tasks and Techniques section in the classifier description), and competing contractual obligations.
What's the process for adding a new classifier?
We occasionally add new classifiers when the addition will serve a number of our customers. Please reach out to your Proofpoint contact person if you have such a request.
When should I choose to create a custom classifier?
If we cannot change or add a classifier to your specifications, then we suggest implementing a custom classifier. You have full control over the regular expressions that flag content, but the technical support that we can provide is more limited.
