Situation Partners may not want to use Proofpoint for mail scanning but still need to manage customers.
Solution You can keep your account active but will need to make the following changes to avoid licensing costs and mail flow issues.

You can keep your account active but will need to make the following changes to avoid licensing costs and mail flow issues.

  1. Point MX away from Proofoint
  2. Make all domains Management domains
  3. Keep Channel Admin accounts. You can have up to 50 without being charged licenses. All other account should be disabled / marked inactive
  4. Disable the 'outbound relaying' option on the features page.

This will allow you have an active account for managing customers without causing mail flow issues for your own domains.
