Azure AD (now known as Entra ID) is not synching new users

Situation Azure AD (Entra ID) has stopped updating new users but still updates exisiting users
Solution Below are some things to check. 

 

Azure AD (Entra ID) is not recognizing New user accounts

The user object MUST have an email address in the object properties. If it does not, then Azure (Entra ID) cannot "SEE IT" to sync. 

Manifesto Up to Date error's

This just means that when the Azure Sync ran in Proofpoint it found no new updates. If there are supposed to be updates, check these additional options. 

  • They are contained within the OU specified
  • They have an SMTP address/proxy address specified
  • The users are hidden from the global address list
  • 2 attributes to check within AD (Entra ID) is queried are:
  • ShowInAddressBook
  • msExchangeHideFromAddressList
  • Does the user have Admin rights to prevent permission issues
