Import from a CSV File
Situation | You are a new customer or you are creating a new Essentials account. Customer account doesn't have a way to sync to provision new end users to our Essentials dashboard. As an admin you want to import existing users email addresses and aliases into our Essentials dashboard. |

Summary |
Our Essentials dashboard allows admins to import existing emails address with aliases address, to a void a manual provisioning for new cusomers. This is only applicable to BRAND NEW customers in Essentials. You can do this through a CSV import. |
CSV Import
CSV Import was intended only for new users
CSV import will not update any existing users. Updates will need to be manually done or use our API.
CSV will only import users. For adding functional accounts, you can import as users first, then convert using the Mass Update option.
This method uses a standard CSV file:
- Standard CSV file can contain user information such as SMTP address, first and last name, mobile number, and aliases.
The import process will automatically create sender lists for each user imported.
To add users:
File Format
As of October 2021, the file format has changed to now include a mobile number as the 4th column.
On the CSV Import page, under the Upload File section there are instructions on the file format.

The actual CSV file does not require a header row.

Import File
- On the User Management tab, click Import & Sync.
- Click CSV Import.
- Choose the default role to be assigned to the users created through this process.
- Click Browse and navigate to the file you want to import.
- Click Upload.
A validation page appears, displaying the results (success, failures) from the CSV import. Existing user records will not be affected by the import, but will be reported as an error (duplicate).
If there are errors, you may want to review your CSV file in a plain text editor.
Export Users
